Agile Breakfast Luzern – LLM Unplugged!

How to use local AI without exposing your knowledge to the webt

Take your wisdom out of your pocket.

[ => This event will be held in English <= ]

Ever wondered if you could use your private knowledge base to feed AI, but without trust issues by exposing it to the Web?

Impress your friends, get a head start for business: Take your wisdom with you and show off with your private AI on your phone

In this give’n’take we’ll set up an environment that allows to use your own private domain data with a local instance of an AI. Using documents of agile nature as an example, we’ll create an Assistant for Agile. Without a single line of programming. On your laptop. It works on phones, too.

People are not replaced by tools, but by people with tools.
Be there or be square.

Speakers:

Ornella Vaccarelli, is a Senior Research Scientist at iCoSys and the Lead Scientist at SCAI (Swiss Center for Augmented Intelligence), where she pioneers innovative AI solutions across diverse domains. With expertise ranging from computer vision and computational physics to the latest developments in large language models (LLMs), she bridges cutting-edge research and practical application.

Her collaborative projects span from fundamental research at EPFL, focused on sustainable materials for solar cells, to developing an LLM-RAG system for the Swiss parliament and the Parliamentary Library. Ornella’s work not only advances scientific understanding but also transforms how industry and government leverage AI for informed decision-making.

A prolific researcher, her findings have been published in high-impact journals, and she is a regular speaker at international conferences. Ornella earned her PhD in Computational Physics from Sorbonne University in Paris and holds a Master’s in Theoretical Physics from the University of Bari.

Her career exemplifies a commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI while ensuring its responsible and effective integration into real-world applications.

Danilo is a demystifier, a wise guy and an evolutionary humanist. Ever since he came out of ETH as a Master of Computer Science, he’s been focusing on quality aspects of software engineering. While his untiring struggle for better testing acceptance in the communities rambles on, the focus shifted slightly to analysing development processes in projects in the last decade, where he gathered experience working in multi-continental teams.

For a decade now he likes a rant against false agile and not without a zest of satire. He’s a zynical blogger, a public speaker in communities and schools and a producer of doodly scribble eplainer videos.

Lately he’s been pushing for small systems AI solutions on all levels

In his free time, he plays card and board games and loves a long dispute over or about a glass of wine.
